The Royal Penguin is among the most majestic of the breed and our PengWine Royal is as equally regal and just as sophisticated. A premiere blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, PengWine Royal is a smooth, complex wine that promises a unique tasting experience that delivers with every glass.

In the development of this wine, only the best grapes were selected. Each variety was de-stemmed and crushed, then placed in separate temperature controlled steel tanks. Cold maceration lasted one week. The skins remained with the must during the fermentation, which lasted almost 10 days. After the primary fermentation was complete, the wine had an additional 1 week maceration time. Only the free flow juices were transferred to the barrels and malolactic fermentation was encouraged.


This is only the second release of the PengWine Royal. Having been cellared in some of the best French Oak barrels money can buy, this blend is a premium delight. One can taste medium plum color with a touch of raspberries. On the nose the wine is deep and full of a variety aromas, like dried figs and violet nuances with a touch of hazelnut and fresh oregano. On the palate the wine explodes with brilliant plum and raspberry flavours, mint and nutmeg, while the tannins are round but firm. The acidity is high and well balanced with the fruit and tannins. The wine is dry but fresh and it is well rounded while components are smoothly integrated. The flavor can linger in the mouth for ages.
